The Produce preserver replacement filters absorb ethylene allowing the ripening process of many produce items to slow down. As a results, certain produce items will stay fresh longer that are kept in your crisper drawer. It extends freshness of produce up to 25%. This kit includes 2 replacement filters and 1 status indicator which will be put in the housing in your crisper drawer. The status indicator helps you remember to change the pouches. Replace pouches and status indicator every six months for optimal freshness. Rated 3 out of 5 by Brauch94 from Unsure if this accessory is necessary We purchased our fridge last year when we bought our first home. This filter, as I call it, has lasted about 9 months. Which is a lot longer than I expected, but I’m not sure if it’s necessary. I did not notice a difference in my produce. But I’m going to buy it again because it’s not that expensive. Gives you a piece of mind, I guess.

Rated 1 out of 5 by PanamaGuy from Product's Fine. Whirlpool Customer Service Awful. I live in Panama, so online orders are sent to a forwarder in Miami. I ordered 3 Fresh Flow produce preservers back in August. They never arrived, even though UPS showed they'd been delivered. I reached out to Whirlpool via chat, because the wait on the phone was over an hour. I explained the problem and they said they'd send out a new shipment. A few days later, I got an email confirming the shipment and noticed that they had left information out of the shipping address. Since these emails are "no-reply," I again chatted with someone at Whirlpool. By the way, the division that handles online orders is not easily reached via chat. About half of the agents to pick up my chats say that they can't transfer the chat over to the right division. Anyway, I pointed out that the address was incorrect. This agent requests a new order. A few days later I get a shipping confirmation with the correct address on it. When that order arrived, Whirlpool had only shipped one pack and not the three I'd ordered. I again reached out and sat in the chat cue for over an hour and a half. I explained the situation and stated several times that it was extremely important that all of the address information appear in the shipping label. Five days later I received a shipping confirmation email with the information left off. I reached out to Whirlpool yesterday, again to be told that they couldn't transfer my chat. I'm at my wit's end. I don't want to call the 800 number because the waits are usually over an hour. I'm calling from Panama and don't want to use up all of my 200 allotted phone minutes. These people are unbelievably incompetent. How hard is it to cut and paste the address information from my order onto a shipping label? How hard was it to follow up and send me the three packs I ordered and not just the one? Next time, I'll order through Amazon, which never messes up my orders. By the way, since this review is on the major appliance site, I'm sure that the people who handle online orders for Produce Preserver will never see it.
