Rated 2 out of 5 by Francis D from Cooktop lighting inadequate. I bought this microwave to free up countertop space. It replaced a budget model range hood that used two, 50w par20 halogen lamps. This will be important later. The microwave works well enough, it heats up the food. The fan feature works well, it moves the air. However, the cooktop lighting is entirely inadequate. Considering the expense of purchasing this unit and the effort needed to install, at the end of the day I was left disappointed. I reached out to Whirlpool hoping they had a replacement LED assembly that provides more light but the reply was automated and not helpful. I ended up sourcing an under-cabinet light from a third party. Hoping that works out. Long story short: if Whirlpool developed an LED module that produced 1200-1400 lumens this would be a five star review but, as it sits, two stars is all I can offer.
