Rated 1 out of 5 by Sri716 from Worst investment I received this appliance as part of my new home from the builder and it is still are under the 1 year warranty. This product is very bad compared to all the other microwaves we have used in the past. The "Smart" functionality is basically useless as the System/control panel freezes up in the middle of a cycle, becomes unresponsive and we have to unplug the power cord to restart. This happens every other day and every week. Also the system triggers an automatic restart in the middle of an operation and stops cooking/vent. Very bad experience for such an expensive product. I have been trying to connect to customer service (via chat, phone) to submit a warranty repair but cannot get hold of anyone.

From the beginning, the fan would not turn off on some occasions and we had to leave it on or disconnect it from the power to be able to turn it off. Now, every time it shows the error code F2E1 and nothing works. We have to disconnect it from the power. It is becoming more and more frequent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by southernPA from Very bad exhaust fan In general the microwave is fine. The 400 CFM exhaust fan is lacking. If you are using it to vent something cooking on the cooktop, and it is hot, the fan will not turn off for 4 hours! The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. It's a stupid design.

The microwave was amazing for 14 months, but it stopped working a couple of weeks ago. The service tech came out and informed me that I needed a new door. The problem is that it is on negative backorder, which means I am not the only person with the same issue. I have contacted Whirlpool to get an estimated time frame on the backorder issue. I was told they won't know until they get the tracking number. Not extremely helpful.

Like so many other reviewers have said, it would freeze and have to reboot occasionally, but now it's about half the time. My previous Whirlpool microwave (the Velos) also had a touchscreen but lasted over a decade; this model seems to have some serious design/manufacturing problems.
