Rated 1 out of 5 by carjunkm from Faulty Microwave We bought this microwave in May 2019 and I was so happy to switch from Samsung to Whirlpool. I thought we were buying a quality microwave that would last for a long time. We're incredibly disappointed that it quit working today saying the main power relay board has a short. As I was searching online, I found lots of reviews about this microwave failing and Whirlpool not doing a recall. I'm feeling really angry that we already need to replace it and microwaves are even more expensive now. Whirlpool has failed us. Stand behind your products, Whirlpool.

Rated 1 out of 5 by bob27 from Confusing Warranty policies We bought this Whirlpool microwave (and a dishwasher) from The Home Depot to upgrade our kitchen in December 2019. Both items were delivered on 1/9/20 but weren't installed until the end of our renovation. We also purchased a 3-year extended warranty, which we thought would extend the Whirlpool warranty and cover the items thru 1/9/23. However, Whirlpool contacted us in December 2020 that our warranty was expiring that month. At that time, we had a "senior moment" and forgot about the original extended warranty, so we purchased another 3-year extended warranty from Whirlpool on 12/04/20. We thought it just extended the previous extended warranty an additional 3 years, which would have covered us until 12/2025. So, when this top-of-the-line microwave died on us (control panel / door switches?) in June of 2024 we called for service, only to be advised that we weren't covered. Much to our surprise, the two warranties were with two separate companies. And it appears the warranty plans overlapped and did not extend the plan purchased from The Home Depot. Confusing. Why would we purchase an additional plan on items still covered by the original plan? Whirlpool stated that they have nothing to do with the extended warranties sold by the stores at the time of purchase, even though the store handled all of the paperwork with Whirlpool for us. (Sounds like a little bit of double-dipping). Needless to say, neither company wants to cover the repairs, which could be more than the cost of a new microwave. If we have to purchase any new appliances, i.e. stove and refrigerator, they won't be Whirlpool and not from The Home Depot.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed in Quality from Nice microwave, but failed in less than 2 years. Love the microwave, but failed after less than 2 years of average to light use. Buy an extended warranty if you get a Whirlpool microwave. Very disappointing.
