Rated 2 out of 5 by Amanda from Safety concerns Multiple times I have come downstairs to the smell of gas… with kids and animals the knobs move to light position and don’t light but the clicking sounds doesn’t alert you until the house smells of gas. Can’t wait to get rid of this and get something that is safer for my family.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lme0913 from Painted Control Panel Chips and Peels Off The control panel is not stainless steel, it's painted plastic. After about a year and a half, the paint starts peeling off. It looks terrible. It is out of warranty, naturally - but this is a good reason to stay away from this Gas Range. Not even sure how I would go about replacing this panel or how much it would cost, and then it would certainly happen again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Unreliable burners from 50/50 on this Range Bought it and loved it right away. Within the first four weeks, the clock stopped working. A nuisance, but something I could live without. For some reason, over the last three months, I'm having trouble with the two front burners. They won't light consistently. Half the time, I have to use a handheld lighter, despite the igniters sparking fine. Also, the flames of the large burners are suddenly out of control. I've had it long enough to know when the gas distributor and cap aren't seated right and to clean the parts regularly. It's just that the two large burners are now unusable unless I'm cooking with 12" pans. Anything smaller, and the flames overtake my cookware at medium heat. I can't use any of my sauce pans on the front burners anymore. The burner knobs are a bit problematic because the inner metal collars will slip out, leaving the knobs loose. On the plus side, the oven has always worked great.

Problem - 1. oven blasting orange flames from the bottom when heating and once it was shut off, it doesn’t light anymore. 2. stovetop intermittently works - meaning sometimes it stayed lit and sometimes it would not light at all. The appliance repair person misdiagnosed the problem and replaced the regulator. When the problem continued the appliance repair suggested I contact the propane gas provider and a plumber to fix the gas valve. Solution - Get a new range. The propane gas provider broke down the problem to the control board which does not make $ sense to repair. There is nothing wrong with the gas valve. The oven kept the temperature accurately even though I calibrated it twice. The stove top is controls have no finesse meaning each burner either runs too hot or too little

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mad-at-bean-counters from The Bane of my Existence. 4 years in on this oven. The oven should be invisible, not visually but drama free. It is amazing how missing on just one or two expectations can change how I feel about an item because I will live with that appliance for years and every day I will cuss at it, it is a love/hate relationships. I like Whirlpool and generally I like my stove but the engineers failed on this model. First, not really an engineers fault, more of a concept and design. Auqa-lift is the worst thought process ever added to an over. Pour water in, turn on, wait till it boils for a while and clean the pan, the pan only, nothing else, just the pan. Not the walls, door, glass or racks. I never knew this was what I bought and regret it every day. This goes down to the marketing peeps. Their survey stated that people do not like oven cleaning due to smoke and heat. They c\ame up with something that uses lower heat, doesn't smoke and doesn't clean. The last thing, the alarm on the timer is worthless. It reminds me of the woman on the movie police academy. She was a very meek and timid cadet that no one can hear when she talks, spoke very low volume. The alarm is so quiet and has one single, quiet "um, excuse me" beep every 60 seconds. If you are not in the same area you will miss it. I want an alarm as expected. One that goes off continuously and loud until it get some human interaction. If you buy this over, get the self-cleaning and buy a secondary timer. Seems stupid you to buy an expensive oven and need to buy a stand alone timer at the dollar store for a $1 to fix a $2,000 oven shortcomings.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Frank from Used Six Times Before Control Board Failed So disappointed with this stove. Bought a whole matching set of Whirlpool kitchen appliances maybe three years ago. Our current range was still perfectly fine, so the stove was kept in climate controlled and dry garage until needed. It was installed recently and worked fine. First disappointment was how loud the vent fan in it was. Very annoying and would run even after oven was shut down until oven was cool. Whatever. But then one day the whole control panel was dead! Used it maybe six times prior to its failure. Oven is currently inoperable and out of warranty even though it’s barely been used. Of course, Whirlpool doesn’t make service manuals available to public for it, and I don’t know how to determine if it’s the control panel or circuit board. They’re both around 300 each. Basically a brand new stove and I’m going to be out several hundred dollars minimum to get it working again. What a joke. Why does an oven need so many circuit boards in the first place?! Ovens used to be so simple and would last decades. I got a couple weeks out of this *very expensive* oven. Absolutely fuming right now.
