I will say that the bin is always full, but I highly doubt that this is capable of producing 50 lbs per day - it took two days to initially fill. The ice is always wet, and the unit seems to constantly add water or generate excess water. I will say that the ice is clear and the machine is easy to use. It fits well under the wet bar counter, and it looks nice.My biggest complaint is that the sales material described the ice as '3/4" cubes', but what it really produces is 3/4" chips that are only about 1/4" thick. Our main purpose for an ice maker was for entertaining around our pool in the summer, but these chips won't last long in a cooler or a pitcher.

My previous ice maker did not have a filter like this one & I feel so much better about having this addition in assuring clean ice.
