Rated 1 out of 5 by David from Do Not Buy I bought this unit in 2022 and was told it has a 5 year sealed system warranty. 1.5 years later the compressor has gone out and Whirlpool is saying there is no warranty on the sealed system. Even though there is no where they can show me that it says it is not covered.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 74JA from STAY AWAY FROM THIS PIECE OF JUNK! I wish I had read the reviews on this refrigerator before planning my new kitchen around it and the matching freezer. Purchased it in 2016 and 13 months later it quit cooling. I paid to have a new part in and it only lasted a year. Thinking I must have a lemon I purchased the sidekick again (Mostly because I had the freezer and my cabinets were built for this unit). The second frig lasted 2 1/2 years before it stopped cooling. So stupidly I put another part in it and the frig quit cooling 2 years later. Not really having any choice without an expensive remodel I paid for another part ($560) and my frig is cooling (for now) but it makes horrible noise. It sounds like a loud submarine. People that come to my house within a few minutes ask "What is that noise"? The service guys came back up but could not get the noise fixed. It's like fingers on a chalkboard noise!!! So here I am less than 8 years after purchasing it and I have been two refrigerators and purchased the cooling part FOUR times!!!! Come on Whirlpool pull this piece of junk!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed Senior from Horrible product, continuous freon leaks! I bought my house 2 years ago and it had the Sidekicks Fridge and Freezer custom built ins. Last week the fridge wasn't cooling, so i had repairman out today. He moved the fridge and his first response was "this fridge has been worked on before for freon issues". Sure enough the freon is out again. I had him load freon hoping to give me time to buy a new unit. 1st disappointment is the fact the models have changed and the new one doesn't match my freezer. 2nd I am SO GLAD they are out of stock AND THAT I READ REVIEWS!!!! I know it is not just my unit but at least 60 other units. There is a defect in your product if the freon keeps leaking. I see a class action law suit in Whirlpool's future. Customers built custom kitchens around these custom appliances and you know we either keep buying these every few years or we remodel our kitchens. That is so wrong!!! Frustrated!!

Started to have issues after a year. When we contacted whirlpool they stated that is was only covered for a year, despite claims up to 5 years for new appliances. We were told that any parts and services after a year where our responsibility.
