Rated 3 out of 5 by Whirlpool dryer from Needed new part after first use Received my new dryer and after the first day I noticed it was leaking water. Whirlpool advised me it was a problem with installation so I contacted Lowes to check the installation of the machine. Seems like it wasn't the installation at all but the pump tube in the back of the unit that needed to be changed. I should have known after reviewing the reviews that this machine was going to cause problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ABloom from Neat idea, poorly executed. We've had this unit for ~4 years - it's been a headache for most of that time. The drying cycle is significantly longer that a standard dryer. We were willing to give this a shot for the energy savings, but didn't realize the issues we would have with it. The condensation pump seized due to the infiltration of lint, which also has almost completely plugged the coils. There is really no way to clear the coils, so this is a throw away unit, just a matter of time. We've been told by the many service people we've had work on the unit that they've never seen a unit like this and aren't familiar with how to fix it. Several flat out said we should just replace it instead of fixing it. We had several warranty repairs and several out of warranty repairs. Lint filters don't filter enough lint out of the air stream, but are also a pain to clean. Time to make a change - don't get caught with this unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Patti from Expensive junk you might like for a couple years. IMO This dryer is terrible! Do not waste your money on it. If you are lucky it will last a couple years working okay. You might convince yourself that this type of dryer takes longer, that running it multiple times is the only way to get items dry and that that is okay. If those were the only issues then I would still be using the dryer. Instead, after only a few years the dryer is completely dead. The repair person was going to need to replace what seems to be every moving part inside including the motor, creating a bill over $850! Unbelievable! I always emptied the lint trap every load. Often twice a load since it wasn't ever dry after a cycle even on the driest setting. I also emptied the second lint trap ever 2 or 3 loads. When the repair person took the dryer apart it was completely full of hair and lint! I wasted our money buying this dryer with a matching washer. I recommend you run somewhere else to buy your dryer. (And the washer had to be replace immediately as they installed the first one and couldn't get it to work right. Should have returned them both right then!) ugh!
