Rated 3 out of 5 by Frozen46 from Not like the oldies A number of minor complaints: The bottom, shorter selves do not fit properly and will need to be cut off, the recommended setting (middle light) does not reach zero degrees F., and the unit should have more than three settings and those should be numerical, not just three lights. I will add that the unit will hold zero degrees F at the coldest setting. Also, I now find it difficult for me to add photos in the number 2 sections of this form. This should be possible to do BEFORE hitting the initial SUBMIT button. Very confusing.

I went to Lowe’s and found they were selling Whirlpool and another brand so I purchased a Whirlpool. The delivery service from Lowe’s was outstanding. Gilbert and Terry from Lowe’s were prompt and efficient, very courteous in helping set up my new freezer.

Teflon coated shelves that latch in instead on just setting on a small ledge. Very quiet when it kicks on . I also love the soft close of the door. When you close the door you can feel it suction close . It rolls very easily for moving around . I just couldn’t be happier with this freezer. Superb choice . Thanks Whirlpool.

We have another freezer that is 34" wide but we needed one less than 31". This one measures about 30 and a quarter inches wide.

One side recommendation, this freezer needs one more large shelf. I had to order an additional shelf. Any freezer above 16 cubic feet needs a 3rd large shelf. We will dishwasher in the next few years and we'll be back.

My new Whirlpool is so much more quiet and efficient. The only suggestion that I would have is to place a metal or plastic bin on the bottom that can be pulled out when looking for something.

Temp Display we bought this white 17.7cf Whirlpool freezer from Lowes for $700 & have had it in the air conditioned garage for a couple of weeks now. We had to buy it because it was the only in-stock upright freezer in our area & our 20+CF Frigidaire gallery was failing and it was full of meat and temps were in the 115 range. It rolls very easily, fit in the tight space perfectly, all of our meat fit very well into the new & smaller Whirlpool, the shelves are very sturdy & it cooled down pretty quickly. One thing I didn't like, was it doesn't come with an external temp gauge, so you have to trust if it's cold enough or not. So, we bought a wireless thermometer and mounted it on the wall in the kitchen, so we could always see what the approximate temp in the freezer is since it's in the garage. It fluctuates between -6 & 4 degrees, and that's okay as it's supposed to hover around 0 according to the information. I like that the shelves are shallow-ish, so I don't 'lose' meats. So the forced down-sizing ended up being a good thing. The single-door handle is a pocket recessed into the side of the door, and is deep enough to get a grip. The door has a really good seal. It was a next day delivery for $30, & the delivery guys were great & very pleasant, and came ahead of schedule. (that's probably a first for any appliance delivery we've ever had!) Whether it lasts, I couldn't tell you yet.

The one we have is 34 inches wide. So my wife insisted we get one that fit and this one fit the bill at 30.25 inches wide and fit perfectly. It has plenty of room for all our frozen foods from our other freezer. We are donating the old freezer to family. The new freezer fit our needs perfectly.
